We were learning about the steps of a quality blog post. The six steps for a quality blog post are: have a catchy title, introduction, DLO, reflection, sources and a question. Then we made a DLO to show how to make a quality blog post. I enjoyed learning about how to make my blog post the best they can be. What I will do now is make my blog post interesting, by remembering the 6 steps. What do you think I could of done better in my DLO?

Kaikohekohe Cultural Festival
Last week on Thursday our Kapa Haka Roopu attended the Kaikohekohe cultural festival. I was learning to do more facials to get the audience's attention. The audience was happy to see Paihia School because our school hasn’t attended the Kaikohekohe cultural festival in 18 years. I think I could of done better by using more facials. I was really nervous. Our practicing really paid off. When we finished we were also proud of ourselves. I also want to say a big thank you to our tutors, my teachers and principal for giving us the time to practice every day for the cultural festival. Link of Video

Last week on Wednesday we had a Duffy assembly. There was a lady named Rebecca Brothers who came to Paihia School and talked to us about her career. She started off by talking to us about her childhood and then her experience at the 2004 Olympics. The cool thing about the Duffy program is that we get free books throughout the year which improves our reading skills and vocabulary. I really enjoyed the show and I am glad that Paihia School is part of the Duffy program.

Kapa Haka
In Te Ngahere our Kapa Haka roopu have been practicing for the Kaikohe Cultural Festival. Our roopu has been practicing hard for this cultural festival. What I’m learning to do is use more facials to get the audience's attention. This week is the last week we practice so we are trying hard to give it 100%, so on the day we can give 100% throughout the whole performance. I am very excited to show all the schools that our roopu has been practicing, but I am also very nervous. It was hard at first doing all the actions and remembering them but I got better by practicing. I hope we all have fun at the Cultural festival and feel proud about what we have accomplished.

Energise
This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about what drinks are healthy for you. Whaea Gina is a lady who teaches kids and adults what is good for our bodies. We did an activity, for every day drinks, sometimes drinks, and occasionally drinks. Our everyday drinks are, water and Fonterra milk. Our sometimes drinks are, Powerade, juice boxes, flavoured milk and flavoured water. Our occasional drinks are coke cans, coke bottles, energy drinks and others. With my new knowledge of sugary drinks I will teach other people and family members what drinks are good for our body and what drinks aren't.
